Europe / Can Religion Influence an Economic System? A Look at the Countries of the Union
Setting out from the idea that the culture of every nation is, in part unconsciously, imbued with religious ethics, this article seeks to identify and analyse briefly any influxes this may have on the economy. It emerges that, in some ambits (financial markets, pension and social security systems, research structure etc.), this influence is present and generates significant differences among the various countries of the European Union. The existence of ‘cultural barriers’ raises doubts about the integration of these ‘sectors’ in the short term.
