Josef Hien

Josef Hien is A.SK fellow at the WZB where he is working on a cultural reinterpretation of the current Eurozone crisis. Josef got his Ph.D from the European University Institute in Florence in 2012. He wrote a thesis on the influence of religious ideas on the formation of the Italian and German welfare states. Josef has worked as a post doc at the Max Planck institute in Cologne and at the Collegio Carlo Alberto in Turin. After the WZB he will join REScEU at Uni Milan where he will check out why Christian Democracy has never built a European welfare state.
